Birthday party

Madelyn turns 7 on Tuesday!
We celebrated today with a fairy party- we made fairy houses and placed them around the yard for resident fairies to move in... A few chocolate eggs disappeared, a sure sign of the fae😉

Christmas fun (finally able to post)

We had a great Christmas- the kids woke up at 11pm on Christmas Eve, and again at 2am and 5:56am, ready to party!;) next year we will plug in the digital clock in their room and make a firm 9:00am opening time...
Madelyn is in love with the idea of an American Girl doll. Having never been a 'doll kid' before, I'm pushing the historical side of it all- we've been reading about her doll Kirsten, her Voyage from Sweeden and her homesteading foray on the prairie. Madelyn is really in to Luttle House On the Prairie right now, so the doll background has captivated her imagination.

Miles hads out his imaginative efforts towards anything and everything Star Wars. Oh boy, here we go!! The light sabor he found under the tree has become his favorite accessory- we are reading through hindreds of pages of Star Wars books from the library about all ships and vehicles and all characters. He could 'study' and swing the light sabor for hours on end!!
My brother David arrived on Christmas Day, lots of fun had by all! Madelyn said her highlight of Unkie's visit was drawing on the windows with new window markers, and Miles was psyched to play 'electricity' (electricity circuit snap set) with David.

Fort building

Just found the kids in the BATHROOM, building a fort. Happily entertained, but I'm cringing at the thought of the bathroom floor- hygiene factor = LOW!;)

Cruising right along..

Madelyn took this picture of miles because he was wearing his 'handsome collar shirt' but he refused to smile:)

Morning time measure-up, because everyone seemed to have grown overnight!

School day breakfast scene- Madelyn finishing her reading log and Miles jibber jabbing about sharks or volcanoes or Star Wars...

Picture of Miles' favorite book at library... Had to take a picture because you can't check out the pop up books... Yoda

Kids' new favorite game, Sequence.

Thermarest fun!

Mustache tattoo!

Catch-up pictures

I Don't know where the last few weeks have gone, but we must have been busy because I didn't capture much on camera...

Madelyn has started skiing on Fridays as part of our school program. Miles has become evenore obsessed with all things Star Wars- a few days sick at home meant he had time to read every book on Star Wars in the library and start in on the movies with Mike!  Lisa and Michael are just humming along, wrapped up in the crazy of daily life;).  Michael is eying fat bikes when he thinks we aren't looking, and Lisa is trying to get to yoga once a week.  The light is coming back in themornings and evenings and that makes everyone a little but happier these days!
Crafty glitter project, inspired and lead by Madelyn of course!

Miles, looking slightly green from the facepaint he had on earlier in the morning (again, inspired by big sis, but self imposed)

We got out on the Kelly ice rink a few weeks ago. Miles lasted for one lap around the rink, distracted by the fact that there was shoveling to be done somewhere. He was out of his skates and back in boots faster than fast!
Dance party with Phoebe and Wren
Guinea pig loving... Sadly only once a week when I clean the cage!?
Bath buddies.

Maddie reading to Miles at the library while they wait for Mom. Pure awesomeness....
