butter

Sorry so long between postings, its been a busy week!! Mike's friend Andy is in town visiting - we are headed over to his place for dinner tonight. Here's a clip of Maddie wrapping up the cookie making this afternoon!

Other news... we've been riding out a week of cold weather and snow. It's always hard to feel like spring is moving backwards! We've been making multiple trips to the park each evening between the snow-flakes and rain. Spent last weekend at the Eco-fair, which was loads of fun. Madelyn and MIchael were touring around and I was chatting up the Community Garden effort, collecting signatures and support. 6 more weeks of school (plus 4 teacher days?!)... that's about it!

Here's a random picture of Madelyn in her "sleeping bag" (pillow case). We started talking about camping and she got very excited. Hopefully this is the summer we can finally make it work!

Spring walks, hair-dos, and dinners

Here's a few snippets of Madelyn and Michael and I out on a walk to the park and back. It was actually two trips, which is why you'll notice that towards the end, Madelyn's pigtails came out and she found her green baby-leg-warmers and chose to wear them under her jeans. As I was saving this movie, I noticed a similar movie we posted just over a year ago... go over to the links on the right of this page, find April, 2009 and click on the "spring day" link to see how much Madelyn's grown in the last year! Wow!

Jess and Mike and Levi came over for dinner tonight (and were kind enough to bring dinner with them?!). Madelyn was besides herself with excitement, showing Levi all of her tricks in just about every department. Madelyn is clearly thrilled by Levi - he runs the risk of getting loved up by M!

help in the kitchen

Madelyn is just too much fun to chat with these days. She is full of questions, jokes, new phrases, and many many requests for the world to be ordered just so...

Also lots of imaginative play - just now in the last 30 seconds she told me that my measuring tape was a necklace, a scarf, horse reins, and now a dog leash! Horse and baby play is also a favorite -they have lots of dialog, and Madelyn can often be heard telling her babies "now, you have to listen to Maddie! You need time out!" Do we sound like that!?!?

And both Michael and I are noticing her growing memory. She is recalling minute details from the Florida trip, who will be at daycare on any given day, and always seems to know where in town we are and helps me navigate to her favorite spots (Leah's house, Papa's work, etc).

Here's a clip of Madelyn helping Michael make some tacos tonight:)

More Pics.

Here are a few more pics feeding our new best friends, some horses that Maddie fell in love with. Also Maddies new ride!

A few more Pics from Florida!

Here are a few more pics from our spring break trip. I really like the Pink Flamingo pic with Maddie also standing on one leg acting like a flamingo. We also were able to see many manatees from above and below the water which was very cool, Maddie wanted to pet them, and we saw Louie the 40 year old hippo who was napping. Overall, a good time with lots of animals!

Florida!

So good to be on vacation and to see family! Let's see if I can make a post on MK's computer...

Have been having a great time. Madelyn did a great job on the airplane. Had a quick bout of homesickness in the car on the way to Grandma and Grandpa Gore's house, and then promptly zonked out and fell asleep for the night. We have been busy playing at the park, looking for horse and frogs and cows; hiding and finding Easter eggs; eating massive quantities of berries; additional Maddie-birthday parties; petting stingrays; playing in the sand; looking at birds and fish; and getting loved up by grandparents! Video clips to come later on...
