A family photo

Here's the latest family photo, featuring our new amazing hand-knit blanket from Lisa's mom.
An update: Michael is back to work full time, if we haven't already mentioned it. He is giving Madelyn her first morning bottle and then helping us all to get up and functioning before he takes off each day... not an easy job! Lisa is trying to make it out on a long walk with Maddie each day, often joined by other friends with little babes as well. And Maddie - well, she's been quite busy doing what babies do best - eating, sleeping, growing. All 3 of us are enjoying small family outings to friends' houses, the grocery store, restaurants, etc... Things that qualified as small adventures 6 weeks ago suddenly have a new flair about them!

Spring?

HAPPY SPRING! It is currently dumping snow right now so I thought I would share a pic. Madelyn was a little confused when I told her it was snowing out, see pic for her reaction. Maddie, Lisa and I are doing well and enjoying the snow...sort of.

Pictures just for the fun of it!

Hi All - here are a few more pictures from the last week... Madelyn had her 1 month check-up yesterday- she is still gaining an ounce a day, weighing in at a whopping 7.5 lbs, and measuring 20.5 inches. She is starting to smile in response to her surroundings (especially the baby in the mirror!) and is reaching out to grab and touch things nearby.

Madelyn's first bath

Today we took the plunge - Maddie had her first bath in the kitchen sink. She seemed to like it! And, it should be no surprise to anyone, but it does appear that she has a bit of curl to her lovely locks!

Grandma Hoersting & Grandpa Lowenfels

Here's a pic of Maddie and Lisa's folks. They are VERY excited to be grandparents and are having a great time hanging with Maddie and the Fam.

All is well in JH as Spring has finally shown up. The mountains received 605 inches of snow for the winter at the resort. HUGE! Which means a long and large melt off, the fishing may be delayed a bit as the rivers will take a bit longer to clear.

The Grandma Chair Arrives!

The Grandma Chair (and Grandpa pillow!) arrived two days ago - Madelyn and I have been nursing in comfort throughout the dark hours and loving it! Thank you Grandparents!

Madelyn hit a big landmark today- her first outgrown item (I thought it might never happen!), a little hat we left the hospital with. Not bad for such a little peanut who's under 7 lbs!
