A Blessing for Grady

Lisa, Madelyn and I went on a HUGE adventure, well for us it was huge, to our good friends Jean & Jason Lewis's house. The occasion was a blessing for their newest family member Grady. He was born on March 15 (a very good day to be born on!), two days before Madelyn and we actually overlapped in the hospital, they were headed out the day we were headed in.

The adventure was successful in that we were able to meet Grady and pass on our blessings with many other amazing friends. Also, that there were 4 babies under 6 months, three expecting mothers and 3 toddlers as well as the parents all having a great time. The future it seems is filled with little ones in our community of friends which is really fun to think about. Needless to say it was a fun filled, special occasion to welcome Grady into the world and we were thankful to be a part of it.

Maddie in her new blanket which she is pretty excited about. Third pic is Lisa, Owen (of the Lewis fam) and Madelyn. Last is Uncle Andy and Uncle Kevin with Maddie.

A week has passed already!? What a wonderful blur. Today Lisa and Madelyn took a field-trip to "Public Health" where Maddie happily weighed in at nearly birth weight: 6 lbs. 1 oz. Here is a family photo (sorry about hats Mom, showers and haircuts take a back seat with a newborn!) and a picture of Madelyn working out.

Generosity!

WOW! Lisa and I were just talking about how incredible this experience has been. Obviously, the nine months up to this point and of course the birth of Madelyn! But also the community of friends and family that we have and the gifts of food, flowers, baby items, and time that they have given and offered. We are truly amazed! So, this is a tribute to all of you from us! THANK YOU! We look forward to growing as a family with all of you.

Bryan Bedrosian made us some beautiful benches for our kitchen table, check them out. On the benches and table are some flowers we also received! Again, thank you to everyone! Also, a pic of Bryan with Maddie!

The Family comes home!

After 3 nights at the hospital, we were all ready to stretch our legs a bit and get home! What fun to have Maddie in the house and to be able to nap on our own couch!

Bili the rubin

First, thank you for all the responses and good tidings. We are doing great. Maddie is getting some light therapy for a build up of bilirubins (see google for definition)It is for a mild case of Jaundice, and nothing to be worried about. We are staying at the hostpital at least one more evening. Lisa and Mike are doing wonderfully. We view it as a little dose of sunshine for Maddie.

1 Day Old

Lisa, Madelyn and I are doing well. We had a good first night and we got to experience meconium? Only those who have, know? We are being treated to a candlelight dinner from the hospital (on our tab I assume)which will be nice and are spending tonight in the hospital as well. We will be heading home tomorrow. Nesting

We have been in nesting mode the past couple of weeks getting the house ready. We now have the BK's room all set up and are waiting on the wonderful Grandma gift of a rocking chair to arrive. A HUGE THANK YOU to Grandma Hoersting, Grandma Krasula and Grandma Gore. We will post pics when it arrives. We feel good about the house for now, are packed and ready, just need to put the car seat in and woohoo here we go.

I must admit that the anticipation is nuts! We are excited and anxious to meet this little dude or dudette.

Dinner at the Haspela's

Dinner with friends in Kelly at Kevin and Laura's place. In attendance besides the hosts were Margot & Andy, Jason, Jean and Owen, Lisa and Myself! A fun evening...and new pics to the prego series from the dinner and a few other pics.

Here are some updated pics of Lisa! She's looking good and feeling good, with the occasional ache here and there. We have been busy getting the place ready, upstairs, babies room, bathroom, closet, whew...still working on it but it's coming together. Click on the pics to enlarge, I think.
