Could it be...!?

Hark, what's that I see in Maddie's hair?? Could it be a curl????

Sorry to get your hopes up Dad, just sweat curls from a hot nap again. Maddie's hair remains straight as can be (how can that be??)

Fort building

Well, Maddie has finally outgrown her "bucket car-seat," which meant we ordered new ones.... which means big boxes, which means FORTS!! Here's a clip of Madelyn doing a little walking, a little fort building, cracker eating, etc. Check out her balance as she walks and catches herself - getting better by the day!

Walking!

Madelyn is walking! She's been dabbling for a few weeks now, taking only a few steps here and there, but yesterday we saw her walk across the carpet, and today she's even more sure of herself... here's a few clips of Maddie walking in various states of undress last night.

And a funny video of Madelyn rocking out! She's a dancin' machine!

Presidents' Day

A day off for Lisa! Madelyn and I had fun visiting with Anne and Leah, who left us with a great new pet (see frog) - thanks Anne! We went swimming, along with every other kid in Jackson... it was CRAZY at the pool, Maddie loved every action packed minute! Madelyn took a huge bottle before bed and now MK and I are sitting here with crossed fingers, hoping that this will be the night we sleep straight through! We are close...I can almost taste it!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day, from Madelyn.

We had a great time this afternoon, meeting friends at the Cutter Races... horses pulling carts, sponsored by Budwiser. Yes, fill in the picture in your imagination with lots of big trucks, tailgating, and many in the crowd wearing sled-neck apparel! Lots of fun! Turns out the starting gate broke right at the start, so we saw very few horse races, but had fun hanging out with folks and watching pony races (who knew those little guys could move so FAST!?).

Dear Aunty Margot,

Dear Aunty Margot (and Uncle Andy!),

Thank you for making bath-time so much fun these days! I LOVE to chase down my hippo and sip on the water that it soaks up! And Aunty Margot, I had so much fun playing with you tonight. You know all of my games, from dropping the sippy cup to letting me kiss your bellybutton. Thanks for playing!

Love,
MHK

PS. I love your glasses and hope I can really get my hands on them more often!

laughing in the highchair

Who would have guess that just a few hours before we filmed this clip, poor Madelyn was running a 102 degree fever! Ah, the wonders of modern medicine!
