Halloween!

So many fun costumes, and only one big day! Good thing we had a little pre-halloween dress up, thanks to our friend Cindy (see peacock picture). Madelyn came up North to school with me today and was part of the big Kelly School parade and party in the afternoon. Madelyn was dressed as a tadpole and Momma was a frog....

Hello High Chair!

Madelyn's new high chair arrived today -
What a great invention!! No longer am I going through an outfit for both of us at each feeding! We inaugurated the highchair with a meal of bananas and Cheerios and it worked like a champ! Madelyn loved feeling the smooth top, and we love the option to push her into the table or use the tray...

A second chance at Fall

What a beautiful fall day (part 2!). We went to the Town Square this morning to "play" with the pumpkins, and then this afternoon went on a hike in the park with Jess, Mike, and Sam. Michael and Madelyn tried out our new backpack set-up ($28 bucks at Second Helpings!!) -it was great! We spent some time up at Taggert Lake before hiking a tired Madelyn back down.
Oh, these pictures! Is there such a thing as too cute??

Crawling

Well, it was bound to happen - Madelyn is crawling! What a change in our lives this makes! And we thought we were busy before...!! Maddie now pushes up from crawling to sitting, is starting to be interested in pulling herself up on everything, making noise by banging two objects together...pretty amazing to watch unfold!

A Winter Weekend

Winter arrived early!! We've had 24 hours of snow, leaving 5 inches of the white stuff on the ground this morning. This afternoon we bundled Maddie up and went out on a walk - she was quite toasty, and chatted herself to sleep.

Mike came back from Portland on Friday night (see picture of excited Madelyn), Lisa's parents made it to the airport before the snow hit, and we spent yesterday assembling all of our new items for the living room.

Madelyn is now crawling! It's not a fast crawl, but it'll get her across the carpet!! She is into everything within reach, and having fun exploring the "Madelyn friendly" lower portions of our new furniture. Crawling video to come later this week...

Browser's with Grandpa

Madelyn and Jeff have been frequenting Browse N' Buy every few days... look at today's great find! Worth every cent, all 50 of them! Also some pictures from our hike in the fall colors yesterday.

Fun with the G-team

The fun continues with the G-team. Mom and Dad found a "piano" at Orivlles for a buck! After a day or two of playing with it sans batteries, we loaded it up today and got the following video. Also see Maddie having a fun flight in her overalls with Grandpa, new textures with a green ball, and hugs from Grandma.

Visit with the G-team

Well, Michael is in Portland for 2 weeks, taking a few appraisal classes. We are fortunate enough to have my parents here for those 2 weeks to help out and visit with Maddie and myself! They (all 3) have been having loads of fun while I'm at work! Swimming, checking out the candy store, longs walks, lots of practice crawling, an introduction to bouncing balls, etc. We have been i-chatting with Papa each night - Maddie is excited to see Michael and was reaching for his beard on the screen last night.

Last weekend my parents, Madelyn, and myself went up to the Shuptrine's garden and picked MASSES of tomatoes. Also cucumbers (see Maddie's teething toy!), carrots, spinach, swiss chard, and beets. Yum! We have been processing tomatoes all week: dehydrated, blended and frozen, tomato pudding (my dad's recipe, surprisingly GOOD!), and of course fresh with basil.

Fall colors are in full swing in Jackson! Lots of dramatic stormy clouds, bright yellows and a few oranges... the drive to work is never more beautiful!
