November happenings

Happy Thanksgiving! We spent the day here, had the neighbors over for the feast, enjoyed lots of great food, company, and kid performances in the living room;) 

Madelyn and Lisa ran the local turkey trot, and Mike and Miles dido a great job cheering the crowd on. 

The weather has been a little wonky- we had a great snow week last week, and it's all melting at this point. Slippery and slushy!

Gearing up for Halloween

Last week we carved up our pumpkins with Karsten. We've been eating breakfast by the light of our pumpkins each morning- sets a really spooky feel;)

Grandma Jude sent M and M their amazing sweaters a few days ago- kids have been wearing them day and night! Perfect timing for a week of colder weather. Also, Picts of Miles in his goggles and rain boots ( no rain involved, purely to satisfy his fashion sense).

Yesterday kids and I joined Karsten and fam for a hike around String Lake- 3.5 miles is no joke for little legs! Such a stunning day...We had a great time, and EVERYONE slept like champs last night!

October wedding get-away

Madelyn and Lisa jet-setters off to Cincinnati for cousin Chris' wedding- great fun seeing family! Madelyn became BFFs with her second cousin Katie ( see Picts), and we're hoping for a family reunion in 2016.

This weekend Michael and I celebrated out 10th anniversary (!) with a kid-free hike on one of our 'neighborhood' trails up Woods Canyon. It's always such a treat to find yourself somewhere new and still be a stones throw from home! Look what cool fossils we found!

And then, we all met up with good friends Emmy, Dave, Molly, and David this evening for String Lake fun, a cook out, and some elk bugling. Perfect evening with friends we miss:)
