Band aids

I am still laughing... Madelyn talked me into a box of muppet band aids at the store today.... They are all unmarked, but have funny muppet pictures on the band aid itself- it was just PLAGUING her that he couldn't tell which one was which, so she opened at least 10 if them, "just to see.". An then, after discussing how these special band aids were just for ouchies (vs decorative purposes), she spent another 10 minutes negotiating with me over a Ms. Piggy bandaid, and convincing me that I had a scratch on my forehead and needed the "grouchy brother muppets!" Band aids... They're not what they used to be?!

Reading

The new library is open and the kids and I went to check it out this morning. Beautiful and so much more lift than the old building! While there we got a bag if books for emergent readers and Madelyn was really excited to practice during quiet time. She wanted to surprise Mike when he got home. "tonight you're in luck, I'll read you a book!" she told him. Here she is reading to MK... And she was so proud and excited that she told our neighbor Josh that she's teach him too;)

Miles is walking up a storm, turning corners, dodging land mines, etc. he fell in love with one of Madelyn's necklaces today... It says 'over the hill' in cast you can't read it! These little people are too funny!

Camping at Granite Hot Springs

Well, we finally did it, we got the troops out camping! We had loads of fun swimming, eating cold burrito dinner, playing in the tent, and roasting marshmallows (under an umbrella)... Yes, it poured and we were only partially prepared, but we all stayed dried and Madelyn gave the trip a 10 out of 10 despite being a little chilly this morning.

Happy 4th

Today instead of watching the parade, Madelyn and I wet IN the parade. We rode with our friend Phil's campaign boat (town council). Lots of fun to watch the spectators rather than the floats!
And, of course there were ribs and corn. Miles at little but seemed to enjoy them the most.

Art gallery

Madelyn opened an art gallery on the porch today... Signs, refreshments, the whole shebang! She was jumping around shouting "yes! We did it!" all day:)
