August
Still having loads of summer fun... Play date with Asa, we made home made ice cream with raspberries! Miles got so down and dirty with his bowl that he needed a full bath!

Madelyn did some excellent weaving down at the Snake River while playing with Karsten

The kids and I biked (Madelyn all by herself, its not a short ride!) down to the farmers market this Saturday. We found the summer's best peach and some beautiful flowers

And last night we had a surprise visitor right after dinner - this duck showed up out of nowhere, walked down the sidewalk, to our back alley, threw a few yards and disappeared... A total mystery;)

Fair time
It's that time again, Teton county fair! Madelyn went yesterday with her school and played tour guide to Miles and I this morning. Petting zoo, 4H animals ( featuring many of my students), the show tent hosting marionettes, and balloons from the sheriff. A good tour!

Camp night
The kids and I went up to Jenny Lake a few nights ago for a campfire cookout with my best friend from 2nd grade! We hadn't seen each other in almost 30 years (how can I be old enough to say that?!). We had a great time, as did the kids. Here's Madelyn's commentary on the way home. She obviously fell instantly in love:)

Jackson Lake
A beautiful lake day up at Signal Mt 9on Jackson Lake!! The kids are at a point where they have so much fun together, I could watch it all day!:) they played 'house' in the drift-wood fort, bird nest up on top, rock throwing... Both Mike and I got in the water, a good day had by all!

Happy 4th
Happy 4th!

We thuroughly enjoyed the parade this morning- tractors, horses, dancing sparkly ladies, Shriner cars, fire trucks, the works. We were lucky enough to catch up with Ryan (from our grad class) and his lovely wife Anna tonight. Ryan was up for Madelyn's antics so he ended up with a blue chalk leg by the end of the night;)

We have been playing hard this week, and on top of it, Madelyn had strep! After 24 hrs of antibiotics she was right as rain. Here the kids are in Kelly, building a fort by the river on Wednesday. Madelyn helped construct, and then in true Madelyn fashion, she decorated the 'house' with well placed leaves speared on sticks. Funny how that persona plays out, even out in 'the wilds' ;)
