Capital Reef National Park

Hot game of Uno in the tent - we crossed paths with Karsten, Chris and Joanna for a night in Moab before motoring to Capital Reef.

CR National Park is a cool mix of beautiful surroundings, and an overlay of Native and Mormon settler history. Beautiful apple orchards!

Really amazing and BIG Dino bone that Madelyn 'found' amazing that these treasures are just hanging out, roadside! Lots of beautiful petroglyphs and carvings in the rocks too, but didn't get pictures

More Spring break fun- Arches National Park

Balanced Rock- a quick hike around...

Double Arch exploration

Hiding from the wind at lunch

Camp life

Cooling of with a tub of river water and some cards

No showers make for cool hair!

Card sharks, look out!

Cold desert mornings!

Amazing water seepage where we filled up each day

Moab day 1

Day 1 we spent looking at dinosaur bones along the river bank and looking at an amazing stretch of Dino footprints!

The bones were all over this hillside. The kids were excited by the idea, but I think they were underwhelmed by the fact that Dino bones look like.... Rocks:)

More creek play to cool down

Good thing Madelyn thought to bring her styly umbrella!

Here are the kids with their hands in a three-toed dump print! Cool!

Cool down treat, it was HOT for us lightweights!

Spring Break Adventures 2015

Spring Break!!! We loaded up the car and drove South this year, headed to Moab. We were SO excited to get out of town!

Miles was eager to get digging in some dirt, here he is at a roadside rest stop. He was unstoppable:)

Things got HOT IN CENTRAL Utah, kids decided to strip down and head to the Colorado River their its we got to Moab. Our camp site was right above. Both kids got into the river clay and sand - Madelyn to sculpt with, and Miles opened a 'mid sunblock factory.'
